What is 401? 401 is an early-stage accelerator based in Miami, built on community, acceleration, and capital. We connect LatAm founders, scale their companies, and invest in both — working hands-on with each founder to connect Latin America with global innovation ecosystems.
What makes 401 different? We're equity-free, work 1:1 with every founder, and give ongoing access across regions as a family-owned business that stays close. Our network becomes yours — capital, clients, and talent — and everyone who comes through 401 becomes part of a living Alumni network that keeps generating connections and deals long after the program ends.
Who is 401 for? Pre-seed and seed-stage LatAm (Hispanic-speaking) founders with early traction, building product-led tech companies and ready to enter new global ecosystems.
2. The program
How does the program work, and what are the terms? A hybrid, equity-free, fixed-cost program over 4 weeks: 2 weeks of virtual prep plus a 2-week in-person immersion in Miami (and San Francisco, depending on the edition). We choose a small, select group per edition to work hands-on with each team, bringing top mentors and operators from the global startup ecosystem.
What will I work on during the program? +20 workshops on fundraising, go-to-market, product-market fit, corporate innovation, government relations, product development, and investor meetings — plus the network, mentorship, and capital you need to grow during and after.
How many startups are accepted per batch? Up to 12 companies, with a ~10% acceptance rate.
What happens on Demo Day? Every founder takes the stage with a 1-minute pitch, and five startups selected by independent investors go deeper with a live 5-minute pitch to the local VC ecosystem (Miami or Silicon Valley, depending on the edition).
What happens after the program ends? You keep the network for good — staying part of the 401 community with continued access to founders, mentors, investors, and our events, dinners, and coworking space.
3. Capital and terms
Does 401 invest, and how does it work? Yes — via a SAFE, reserved exclusively for founders who go through our programs (3–4 startups per year). Once the program ends, we agree together on how to structure it, through a SAFE and a side letter. People first, terms second.
What do you invest in? Product-led technology companies at pre-seed and seed stage — LatAm founders with global ambition. We're industry-agnostic, and we also back funds and platforms building long-term infrastructure for Latin American founders (5 funds to date across different countries).
4. Applying
How do I apply? Get in touch and/or apply on our site (programs).
What are the requirements to apply? A LatAm founding team, a product-led company at pre-seed or seed stage, and early traction. Fundraising experience is a nice-to-have.
What are the selection criteria? People first — we look at the founders' ambition, coachability, and discipline to execute, alongside the product, the market, and how ready the team is to expand into new ecosystems.
When is the next batch? March '27 — Miami · September '27 — San Francisco.
Do I need to be incorporated in the U.S. to apply? No — you don't need a U.S. entity to apply.
Do I need a visa to join the program? The virtual prep runs from anywhere. For the in-person immersion, you'll travel to the U.S., so yes — you'll need a business visa.
5. Community
How do I join the community? Our community is curated — alumni, portfolio companies, and partners. Reach out on WhatsApp or LinkedIn and tell us how you heard about 401 and why you want to belong.
What do I get as a community member? Access to a high-quality network across the LatAm and global ecosystem, events, feedback, and proximity to mentors and investors.
Do I need to go through a program to join? No. The community is open — the programs and capital are the deeper layers for founders who go through 401.
6. Coworking
What is the 401 coworking space? A workspace in the heart of Brickell where your company keeps growing, right alongside the 401 community. High-quality network, flexible space, and a place that feels like home.
What coworking plans do you offer? Dedicated (desk or private office, parking optional), Flexible (daily pass, 10-day trial, open desk), Host at 401 (hourly or full-day event bookings), and Virtual (virtual office, with mail-scan and visit add-ons).
Can I host my own event at 401? Yes — with Host at 401 you can bring your workshops, events, and your people into the community, hourly or full-day, weekdays and weekends.
7. Partners
How can I partner or collaborate with 401? We co-build with leading ecosystem partners. Get in touch at mati@401accelerator.com.
Who are 401's partners? We work alongside global partners like Morris & Opazo, Deel, Cooley, AWS, Stripe, Brex, and Morrison & Foerster, among others across the ecosystem.
